| My own designs in Spanish Braid Lace "Witch Stitch Lace" |
"Witch Stitch Lace", in Spanish: "Punto Brujo Extremeño", is also called Encaje de Hinojosa. It is worked usually with 10 pairs of bobbins and the braid have an uniform width throughout the pattern., it is worked i n a continuous way all along its length, twisting and turning, filling all the spaces and joining braids together. More information here I have contributed to the revival that this lace is having nowadays and my interest is going now a little further as I am looking for the origins of this lace. I call to European lacemakers interested too, in origins and history of laces that can help me to find similarities among early and/or ancient European laces, please contact me. As a sample of this technique, here it is some pages of my first pattern booklet. I have published the second and third ones that you can find here |
