I am pleased in share with you a redrafting of an ancient pattern for a mat,
worked by my grandmother. (You can see it oval shaped, here below)
The pattern is composed of a round edge, a circular braid insertion and an
interesting center made with leaves, laced in zig zag and sewed to the outer
braid, providing an image of a many leaved flower.
The motifs in the edge are spiders and a light fan.
Care should be taken with the pairs crossed and taken across the opposite site
in the joinings between fans.
